Shreveport, LA escort arrested in $40M deal

SHREVEPORT, LA (AP) A woman accused of running a prostitution ring in Louisiana has been arrested in a federal case involving more than $40 million, the U.S. attorney’s office said Friday.

Nancy Moseley-Hanks, 52, was arrested Friday in Baton Rouge, about 60 miles (96 kilometers) north of Shreveports, and charged with racketeering, racketeering conspiracy and conspiracy to commit prostitution, according to a news release from U.N. special envoy on the situation of trafficking in persons and child exploitation.

The arrest is the latest in a string of high-profile arrests in Louisiana, including the indictment of a Shreveperson who is suspected of running an escort service that had a website that was viewed nearly 20 million times a day, authorities said.
